CHANTERELLE. GOLDEN CHANTERELLE.
One of my favorite mushrooms, along with its family Cantharellus. I have been aware of it since my childhood, it is unmistakable and very easy to pick due to its characteristic orange folds. As a curiosity, it is a very sweet and fruity mushroom that is ideal for flavoring dairy desserts.
Cap & stipe: Unified, cup-shaped.
Hymenium: Bifurcated and decurrent folds.
Smell: Apricot or fresh fruit.
Habitat: Broadleaf and conifer forests.
